Nature of Training Opportunity

(EP6) Discussion and tour of potentially contaminated land sites within the borough. Overview of the legislation, a practical look at some sites and a discussion of the impacts of site remediation.

Training Outcome

An appreciation of the legislation relating to contaminated land.
A practical appreciation of site remediation and how it can affect residential areas.
Link also to basic skills such as communication, investigation skills etc.

Month of August, weeks immediately prior to and after Christmas

Specific requirements

Students will need sensible footwear, may need Wellingtons boots depending on the weather.
Waterproof jacket
Depending on site may need old trousers.
WILL BE ADVISED ACCORDINGLY WHEN MAKING APPOINTMENT.

Students will be expected to have a basic knowledge of contaminated land legislation and the source, path, receptor linkages
