Nature of training opportunity

3/4/6  month placement based at a Cook Chill food manufacturer

Training outcome

Students will work alongside the Technical Management Team

Students will engage in:

1. Food related projects including food hygiene compliance audits in the manufacturing premises and the  site catering facilities; HACCP audits, prevention of contamination,  investigation of food complaints, prevention of food borne illness

2. Health and safety projects, including risk assessments and audits, occupational health and safety, accident investigations and prevention of work related illness;

3. Environmental protection projects including waste disposal, assessment of environmental noise, safety of drinking water and emergency planning.

Additional comments

The student will be required to attend work both during normal hours and occasionally out of hours / weekends for the purposes of auditing. The student will be exposed to various environments including chill, freeze and hot areas. The site is a medium / large industrial food manufacturer with approximately 400 employees.
